Bam’s Budget: The Good, the Bad, and the Meh…

Good afternoon, ProviderNation.

The Big Guy has released his budget. The fine folks at AHCA/NCAL have taken a gander and given it the ole mixed review.

The “good news,” AHCA’s top gun, Gov. Mark Parkinson, says, “is that the president did not recommend any additional cuts” in Medicaid.

The bad news is that the Prez has thrown in some “arbitrary cuts” to Medicare. Parkinson has some thoughts on that. “We all know they are detrimental to our profession, and we will actively work against them,” Parkinson says.

Slate’s inestimable David Weigel says that Obama’s budget is dead-on-arrival, but long term care providers still have to be on their guard.
