Superfriends Unite…

Good morning, ProviderNation.

Huge news in long term care this morning: The American Health Care Association and the Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care are teaming up.

The new, streamlined outfit will take AHCA’s name and letterhead and will be headed by AHCA honcho Mark Parkinson.

“This is an important step in unifying our profession and speaking on the Hill and to CMS with one voice. This change will also bring several million dollars of additional revenue to AHCA and will allow us to add to an already impressive advocacy effort,” Parkinson says in a message to members this morning.

The agreement comes just as HCR ManorCare and Medical Facilities of America have decided to throw their lot in with AHCA, as of July 1. That means record membership for AHCA, Parkinson says.
