Good morning, ProviderNation.

There’s a new sheriff in town. Mike Bassett is joining the posse at the American Health Care Association, where he’ll help lasso Congress-folk on the range.

Bassett was a top adviser to Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), but also did some time with the Senate Committee on Aging and with Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.).

“Mike possesses that unique ability to reach across issue areas, find common ground, and form workable policy solutions,” AHCA honcho Mark Parkinson says in announcing the hire. “He will be a tremendous asset to our team as we present compelling new ideas to old challenges facing Medicare and Medicaid financing.”
