Illinois Central…

Good morning, ProviderNation.

Cue up the Peaches and Herb: The Illinois Health Care Association is re-upping with the American Health Care Association, it was announced. Illinois went its separate ways a few years back to focus on the state’s awful Medicaid problems.

But now they’re back, saying they want to put a little Land-of-Lincoln muscle behind national lobbying efforts. “Illinois is too large a state and too critical a player in the nation’s delivery of long term and post-acute care to not be active in Washington,” IHCA President Holgeir Oksnevad said in a news release.

In other news, maybe we should make that steak even rarer: Researchers claim to have found a link between red meat and Alzheimer’s disease.
